What does PALADES Marine Electrical Consultancy do?

We provide marine electrical engineering, troubleshooting, retrofit design, plan review, and dry dock supervision for cargo, ferry, tanker, offshore, and RoRo vessels. We support shipowners, managers, and shipyards worldwide from our base in Piraeus, Greece.

Do you only operate in Greece?

No. We work onboard in Greece and abroad, and we provide remote diagnostics, consulting, and documentation for any fleet worldwide. Many projects are handled for vessels in Korea, China, Japan, Singapore, and EU yards.

What type of electrical systems do you support?

Switchboards, generators, motors, PLC and automation, bridge and navigation equipment, VFD drives, PMS systems, BWTS/scrubber retrofits, AMP (shore power), shaft generators, and PCB-level electronics.

Do you offer plan approval for class compliance?

Yes. We review and prepare electrical drawings for IACS classification societies (ABS, BV, LR, DNV, RINA, etc.). We handle comment follow-up, revisions, and owner-supplied equipment integration.

Can you manage a full retrofit project from start to finish?

Yes. We cover concept engineering, design review, 3D routing checks, shipyard coordination, vendor selection, installation supervision, and commissioning.

What retrofit technologies do you support?

BWTS, scrubbers, AMP/shore power, shaft generators, VFD drives, energy efficiency upgrades, smart monitoring, and PLC/HMI modernization.

Do you provide emergency troubleshooting?

Yes. We act as an on-demand electrical superintendent. Fault finding is available remotely or onboard. Average response time: 12 hours via WhatsApp.

Can you perform electrical condition surveys?

Yes. We run pre-purchase, pre-charter and periodic surveys focusing on cables, switchboards, motors, batteries, spare inventory, and electronics health.

Do you handle PMS (Planned Maintenance System) setup?

Yes. We build electrical PMS structures, job cards, and task intervals aligned with class rules and real crew workflows.

Do you provide support during dry dock?

Yes. We prepare the full electrical scope, coordinate vendors, supervise repairs, and ensure the yard completes the work on time with proper test records.

Do you repair electric motors and PCBs?

Yes. We overhaul motors onboard or in a workshop, including rewinding and bearing replacement. We also repair electronic boards at component level to avoid full replacements.

Which PLC and automation brands do you work with?

Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Omron, Panasonic, WAGO, Beckhoff, Schneider and others. We replace obsolete PLC/HMI hardware with modern equivalents without disrupting vessel operation.

Do you provide class-ready documentation?

Yes. Every project includes technical reports, as-built drawings, commissioning records, FAT/SAT logs and class handover packages.
